In Her Element Foundation
Networks, mentors, and connections play a crucial role in the advancement of women, particularly Latina and BIPOC girls and women. These support systems provide a platform for guidance, inspiration, and encouragement, empowering them to break barriers and achieve their goals. In Her Element Foundation recognizes the significance of these connections and offers various programs to support Latinas and BIPOC girls and women on their journey as entrepreneurs, leaders in the workforce, and their community. Since 2022, the Foundation has mobilized a sisterhood of women comprised of peers, mentors, coaches, and friends who serve underrepresented high school girls and women through mentoring, coaching, and professional development systems, and by providing resources to inspire, empower, and elevate their quality of life, propelling them to the forefront in leadership.

Dear Friends and Family,

Thank you for supporting In Her Element Foundation.

In Her Element Foundation was founded in 2021 by Cynthia Boyar Trejo as a community-based initiative to elevate the lives of Latina and BIPOC girls and women who live in El Paso and surrounding communities. We work with community partners, other non-profit organizations, and leaders, to identify, mobilize, and train our regional population in both English and Spanish

Our first program, the Mentor-Ship Program, began in 2022. Through this program girls and women are paired with experienced female leaders who generously volunteer their time and expertise to support, guide, and inspire. Our Mentor-Ship Platform provides soft skills training that focuses on the development of abilities such as communication, teamwork, and problem-solving. Training also includes leadership training on topics such as workplace communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution. Upon completion of the one-year program, Mentees graduate and receive a Certificate of Completion. To date, 12 women have graduated from the program and 9 high school graduates are currently enrolled. We have seen and experienced tremendous change and positive results in our Mentees, from taking on new assignments and career advancement to enrolling in higher education and pursuing entrepreneurial endeavors.

Our First Impressions Program provides essential assistance with resume writing, mock interviews, and the necessary tools to make a lasting impression in the job market.

Her Boutique offers gently used professional attire, ensuring women have access to appropriate clothing for interviews and professional work settings.

Our Money Management Center provides workshops on money management, budgeting, controlling debt, and savings, empowering women to take control of their financial future.

This year, in 2023, during Women’s History Month, we introduced the Chat with a Chief Program. This opportunity provides a time to meet one-on-one with women in C-Suite positions, to learn, ask questions, and gain insight on women in leadership.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude for your contribution and support. Your invaluable support demonstrates your commitment to our community and enables us to persist in our mission of serving, empowering, and making a positive impact.

At In Her Element Foundation, we believe that we have the ability to make a difference in our beautiful El Paso community and beyond!
