Global Give-A-Book, Inc. was established as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit in September of 2020, in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic by Founder and Executive Director, Sylvia Maser of El Paso, Texas and later Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Sylvia, the driving force behind Global Give-A-Book, is dedicated to promoting children’s literacy. Sylvia’s personal journey, inspired by her own childhood; grappled with learning English as a child of immigrant parents but discovered a profound love for reading during her college years. Her experiences as a single mother of five children ignited a deep passion for literacy, solidifying her belief that all children deserve access to high-quality literature- before they enter college.
Global Give-A-Book exisits to bridge the numerous gaps in access to literature for young children. We have found that often times the children that need books the most, are at the end of our local pantry distribution lines.
To date GGAB has seen over 17,000 books given through 18 community projects to underservered children in counties across the U.S. Southwest.
