The scholars and families of The Challenge Foundation El Paso are extraordinary. While each scholar’s circumstances are unique, what they all share is the desire and drive to graduate from a college preparatory school, be college-ready, and enter the college of their choice. Many of these scholars will be the first in their family to graduate from college.

Our vision is for each scholar to complete this journey with confidence—a confidence that is learned and grown from her experiences with the program. This confidence empowers her to use her voice, seek out resources, and live her best life. I am often reminded of a quote from Maya Angelou: “If you are always trying to be normal, you will never know how amazing you can be.”

This program represents a long-term commitment for the scholar, her family, her mentor, her educators, and all of us who are involved. It is an honor and a privilege to take part in each scholar’s journey. It fills my heart to watch these young women come into their own, recognizing their own gifts and talents and living from their strengths.
